The Races

Human~ Two words: no powers. None. A human cannot control any elements, cannot gain strength from any elements, cannot see the future, etc. If you want someone that is half-human and half-something else, then of course they can control powers, but not nearly as easily or as well as those who are purely that other race. A human can also have only a little of something else in them, which would also enable them to have a taste of that power, but no full human can have powers of any sort. If there is any confusion on this, confront me before you post.

Pureblood Vampire~ Unlike other sites, you can have a vampire that was actually born a vampire, but they are few and far between. A pureblood's venom is more lethal, but he can control whether or not he wants to release it into someone else when biting that person. He can also sleep, but the sun is deadly, causing a chemical reaction in that vampire's body that will eventually kill them. This is different from your classic vampire, so if there is further confusion, let me know and I'll clear it up, hopefully. This vampire has very very heightened senses depending on how old he is. The older he is, the better he can see, smell, taste, run, jump, etc.

Changed Vampire~ Okay, this vampire was not born a vampire, but born something else entirely and retains some of those abilities. If he was a water elemental, for example, even after he is turned can he control a little bit of that. That goes for any other race, as well. The sun is not deadly to this vampire, but it is uncomfortable, and he cannot control his flow of venom when biting. Like the pureblood, the changed vampire can also run very quickly, though not as quickly, and can see, smell, and taste more than the average other.

Were-creature~ This is a very tough one to explain. A were-creature of any sort (werewolf, werecat, werepanther, etc.) is always born that way. For example, if a werewolf were to bite someone, that would not, under any circumstances, change that person into a werewolf as well. The were-animals also do not depend on something like the phases of the moon to turn them; they can change at any time. At some point, such as fits of anger, it may cause the were-animal to want to change into its animal to fit the rage, but otherwise, nothing affects it in that way. Heightened senses, as well, depending on what its animal is.

Elf~ Again, a hard one to explain. There are different types of elves, but two main categories: Light and Dark. These elves rely on different ways to manipulate their powers, but they have almost the same effect. All elves are similar to mages in the sense that they can control different forms of magic, but think 'nature' instead of 'the unknown'. A dark elf will have darker effects and a light elf vice versa. They also have heightened senses that, because I love you, can count as one power.

Mage~ The mage generally has one area of expertise and can do some forms of other magic. Choose carefully. In most cases, he controls his magic by using words or hand signs or a combination of both for the more powerful ones. Magic takes energy! If you have someone who has been practicing for many years, he can do more things with more ease than someone who's been practicing for, say, a single year.

Demon~ Ah, the famed demon. This guy is not fun. Almost all demons are for the dark side, regardless of how they act, and their powers revolve around darkness. For example, a common power would be being able to become part of a shadow. All demons have gold or red eyes.

Angel~ This is a tough one. Angels can exist on the plane of Earth only for brief amounts of time unless they are warrior angels, wherein if their assignment is to be on Earth and complete something there, they stay as long as needed. Choose whatever appearance you want as long as it falls into the generally light category. These angels are the stereotypical sweet, loving, innocent angels. If you don't want that, don't create it. They retain no powers they had in their life unless they are warrior angels (next section).

Warrior Angel~ The warrior angel is an angel that becomes a fighter once he dies. He is to do the bidding of his god, generally taking on missions that have to do with eliminating those who cause only pain. They retain the powers they had in their life and acquire a new, deadly one: angel fire. This fire can be manifested at will and is deadly to all races. If you are hit with angel fire, be prepared; you will probably die. One rule though: the angel fire does not exist unless it is touching a part of the angel who created it. The second it's not, it's gone. For example, if a warrior angel chooses to use a sword of angel fire, he can do damage with it as long as he is holding it. The second he throws it, it will vanish.

Fallen Angel~ A fallen angel is an angel that has fallen from grace by doing something unforgivable in the eyes of whatever god it became an angel under. Fallen angels are generally quiet, slightly angsty, sometimes depressed, and never have pure white wings. If you create a fallen angel, be prepared to receive questions regarding the angel's downfall and the sort. Also, depending on what this angel was before it died, any powers it may've had are reversed. For example, if the angel was a water elemental, it's powers will now revolve around fire, not water.

Death Angel~ There are very few of these angels. Black wings, dark hearts, and uncaring for the most part, they became what they are only by committing suicide. Not all people who commit suicide become death angels, and those who do must follow Death and his orders. A death angel's job is to escort the souls of those who have died to their salvation or damnation as deemed fit. This is probably why they usually are not friendly: they have seen the torment of too many lives.

Shape Shifter~ The shape shifter can change into anything and everything as long as it is alive and has a mind (basically any animal or person). One thing to remember is that something, be it eye color, a scar, a birthmark, etc., will always be the same no matter what form the shifter takes.

Elemental~ An elemental of any sort, depending on his experience, can control and sometimes create his element. Being near that element gives him strength, being far far away from it takes it away--keep in mind that the location isn't as large of a factor as you might think unless the elemental has something different going on. Obviously, opposites cancel out, and the only elementals that exist are: water, fire, wind/air, earth/stone, metal, and electricity.

Gods~ None. You cannot create a god. At all. No negotiations.

Shade~ I should hope we've all read Eragon, and if we haven't, go look it up, because I really don't feel like explaining what a shade is.

There are more descriptions to come, but I'm going to do some research before I put them up. Until then, come to me with any questions and make sure you pay attention to these!
